56 pages, 6.25x7.8 inches, color laser print. Limited edition of 15 copies. 116 drawings made by artist Sarina Claire while stuck at her home during an extreme flash flood in Roswell, New Mexico. Drawings made over four days with water soluble pencil on paper from the 1930s.
This body of work might best be described as a collection of subconscious cryptids, pouring out in a repetitive and trance-like way towards the extraterrestrial, the supernatural. Warped transmutations of 1930s cartoons are seen on the fading notebook paper and vintage newsprint from the same era. In “Flood Drawings”, Sarina takes us to the edge of some of the most primitive places of the human mind.
